Another great summer & a brand-new franchisee – time you got in on the action?

Well, it’s been a bumper summer at the Udderlicious franchise with customers spilling out onto the streets to enjoy their delicious ice creams – which will probably be no surprise given how hot it’s been in the capital.

What might be a surprise to many, however, is that this is a business which does well all year round. We all obviously associate ice creams with hot weather, but Udderlicious shops are boutique destinations where customers come for the experience as much as the scoop. The very first store actually opened in October, and it worked! With a menu that evolves with the seasons and a focus on creating a welcoming, memorable atmosphere, there’s always something to tempt people inside, whether it’s a comforting winter treat or a fresh new flavour to celebrate spring.

Talking of spring – where do you see yourself 6 months from now?

I know it still feels like a long way off, but getting a new business off the ground is not something which happens overnight – especially when it’s one that requires finding just the right kind of premises.

For example, this summer also saw the arrival of Udderlicious’ very first franchisee-owned shop in Camden but new owner, Kadmi, first started looking for his premises back in March. Now he’s in and trading happily, but these things take time.

Finding premises is the end of the process, of course. Think about everything involved in a move like this:

  • 4 weeks: making sure you have all the information you need to make a decision, and attending a Discovery Day
  • 4-8 weeks: arranging contracts and finances, carrying out your due diligence, etc.
  • 4-5 months: finding and leasing the right premises, and getting them ready for launch

We can help you a great deal with every single step, of course, but you’re still talking at least 6 months before you can expect to start trading, and that’s being pretty optimistic when you factor in just how competitive the property markets are in most big towns and cities, especially London.

So, if you really want to start a new business in time for spring and early summer of 2026, you need to be getting started pretty soon.

Before anything else, you need to decide if this is the right opportunity for you

So, why don’t we get the process started with a conversation? Nothing heavy, and certainly no pressure – just a friendly chat about the Udderlicious franchise. If, after that, you decide not to take it forward, you’ve not lost anything. However, why not at least get the ball rolling? It could be the start of something big.
